So incase you don't know the story, last year DB and I became the parents of not the four boys that we had been (plus his little girl)... but to FIVE sons. When we moved to WA - we became friends with Tammy. We were best friends. There was a lot of drama around it all, but I had this special bond with her son Kale. Always have. Tammy died 3 1/2 years ago. A year ago, Kale came to live with us. With him he brought his girlfriend, Shila. Shila has a baby girl from a previous relationship, Clariah just turned two years old. Well, Shila and Kale have been expecting a baby since the beginning of the year. It's Kale's first biological baby. He's also Daddy to Clairah, but Clairah doesn't live with us.
Anyway - my second Grandbaby was born on August 4th. I'll be doing birth announcements and such, and I'm sure this blog and my photography page (along with my personal page, and my personal blog) will be over flowing with pictures of Miss Elly - but ... here are the photos of Elly from the day she was born.
Some photos were taken by Shila and Kale with my camera, Kale took the camera in the delivery room. I did the editing. Also Shila is interested in photography so I think I may have her help me out with the business!
This is Shila almost 39 weeks pregnant. My favorite pregnancy photo of her.
Last kisses for these two before they become a family of FOUR :)
Kale took these back in the O.R. - I wasn't allowed back to take photos.
First family photo taken by the staff at Harrison!
Nonna finally gets her paws on the baby with the camera. Very first photos....

Shila decided she wants to exclusively nurse. I am a firm believer that nursing babies and Momma's are beautiful - nothing to be hidden or ashamed of.
She was smiling the day she was born..... I say it's smiling, I don't care if it was gas or muscle twitching....
A couple more faces of Elly on her first day ......
