I have had two preemies and I have since become very interested in doing Preemie photography - or NICU photography - or even photography for families who have only been given a short time with their babies - to make sure that they have memories with them, ones that they can look back on forever.
Here are some photos I took in 2002 of my son Noah who was born 1lb 12.2oz and 13 3/4 inches long. Of course these weren't done as "professional" ....
So tiny ...
Hands
Feet
Proud Big Brother
Holding Rings....
And here are my still not "professional" but slightly better ones from 2007 when my son Nathan was born at 3lbs 4oz and 15 3/4 inches long ....
Shortly after birth
This one is super grainy - however - one of my favorites
This one - I hung a copy of at Nathan's pod, and they director had swiped it one day. She asked permission to use it in newsletters and such - handouts about siblings visiting the NICU ... I was honored... for sure.... it is of my oldest and my son who had been a preemie ... looking in on the new baby ...
Big Brother watching over the littlest ....
Feeding time and Bili lights (love the blue hue)
Tiny bruised feet :(
These I did take as "professionally" as I could at the time..... the bottom one was used for his birth announcement .....
(taken in the NICU ..... notice the gray thing by the frog, that's this lead wires ..... would you have noticed if I had pointed it out?)
